Community Health Worker Career Journey

SandwYch trains CHWs for paid and volunteer positions, along with supporting apprenticeship placement with partner organizations. Gain experience, a career, and give back to your community in a clinic, community-based organization or a hospital setting.

CHW Training

The 180-hour program is self-paced, 13 week, online program with virtual support covering the nine core competencies, effective February 1, 2026, as required by Texas Health and Human Services. At the completion of the course, candidates will show evidence of mastery through training and be workforce ready as a CHW.
